- Aficionado a la Astrofotografía - Gran Canaria (España)
Me aficioné
a la Astronomía en junio de 1992 tras observar casualmente
por un pequeño refractor los anillos de Saturno, y acto
seguido el disco planetario de Marte. Desde un primer instante
me decanté por la astrofotografía realizando diapositivas
de las constelaciones de cielo, y construyendo una plancheta
ecuatorial para tal efecto. En septiembre de 1993 realicé el "I Curso de Introducción
a la Astronomía", organizado por la Caja Insular
de Ahorros de Canarias y el Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias IAC en el CICCA.
En el año
2003, con el avance de la tecnología, di el paso a la
astrofotografía digital, el cual también fue un
paso cualitativo en mis trabajos. Mis mejores cuarenta astrofotografías
fueron expuestas durante dos semanas, en octubre del año
2003, en la Sala de Exposiciones
de la Fundación
Mapfre Guanarteme en Arucas.

devoted to Astronomy on June 1992, casually observing with a
small refractor the rings of Saturn, and immediately thereafter
the planetary disk of Mars. From the first moment I opted for
doing astrophotography slide show of the constellations of heaven,
and building an equatorial plane table for this purpose. In September
1993 I made the "I Course Introduction to Astronomy",
organized by the Caja Insular de Ahorros de Canarias and the
Instituto de Astrofisica de Canarias IAC in the ICCAT. In 2003,
with the advancement of technology to digital astrophotography,
I gave a qualitative step forward in my work. My best forty astrophotography
were exposed for two weeks in October 2003 in the Exhibition
Hall of the Fundación Mapfre Guanarteme Arucas.

Algunas de mis fotografías
fueron publicadas por la Revista Año Cero (1997), Revista Anarda (2003), Revista Espacio (2005), el Periódico La Provincia (2005) y el Periódico Canarias7 (2008). En diciembre de 2005, la realizadora audiovisual Mónica Arista, de BsAs, Argentina,
incluyó algunas de mis imágenes en un cortometraje
experimental acerca de la creación del Universo y el hombre.
Un conjunto de mis
imágenes planetarias fueron expuestas en una ponencia
de Francisco San Emeterio, en el transcurso del Congreso Estatal de Astronomía, celebrado del 6 a 10
de diciembre de 2006 en Santander, organizado
por la Agrupación Astronómica Cántabra. En el 2007, otra serie de mis imágenes fueron integradas
en un póster con todos los objetos Messier, elaborado
por el grupo Editorial
Sirius
y la Revista
Astronomía.
En mayo de 2008, ofrecí tres
charlas sobre la Astronomía en Artenara - Gran Canaria
en la Feria "Vacaciones
en Canarias",
celebrada en el Recinto Ferial, con extracto publicado en el
periódico Isla21. Pertenecí, como socio, a la Agrupación
Astronómica de Gran Canaria AAGC, en el periodo 1993 - 1997 y 2008 - 2009.
Some of my photographs
were published by the Review Year Zero (1997), Journal Anarda
(2003), Space Magazine (2005), the newspaper La Provincia (2005)
and the Journal Canarias7 (2008). In December 2005, the audiovisual
producer Monica Arista, BsAs, Argentina, included some of my
images in an experimental short about the creation of the Universe.
A set of my planetary images were displayed in a presentation
by San Emeterio Francisco, during the State Conference of Astronomy,
held from 6 to 10 December 2006 in Santander, organized by the
Astronomical Association of Cantabria. In 2007, another series
of my images were integrated into a poster with all the Messier
objects, produced by the Editorial Group and Sirius Astronomy
Magazine. In May 2008, I gave three talks on Astronomy Artenara
- Gran Canaria at the Fair "Holidays in the Canary Islands,
held at the fairgrounds, with extracts published in the newspaper
Isla21. Belonged, as a partner to the Astronomical Association
of Gran Canaria AAGC in the period 1993 - 1997 and 2008 - 2009
Desde julio de 2008 hasta enero de 2009, realicé ocho
charlas sobre la Luna Llena y la Astronomía en el Hotel
Sheraton Salobre Golf Resort de Gran Canaria, dirigidas al turismo
europeo. En
el año 2009, participé con algunas de mis fotografías
en el proyecto “Astro para todos los Públicos”
del Nodo
Español del AIA-IYA09. Este proyecto, liderado por la Dra.
Inés Rodríguez Hidalgo, del Instituto de Astrofísica
de Canarias (IAC), fue designado Proyecto Emblemático del Año
Internacional de la Astronomía en España. En enero de 2009, mi trabajo de IC434 resultó co-ganador
como Imagen del Mes en el foro norteamericano Orion Starshoot
Pro, reconocimiento compartido con el estadounidense Doug Hubbell.
En noviembre de
2009, asistí en Madrid
a una charla de Patricio Domínguez, profesor de Geología
de la Universidad Complutense, sobre tratamiento de imágenes
planetarias y lunares.
From July 2008 until
January 2009, I conducted eight talks on the full moon and Astronomy
at the Hotel Sheraton Salobre Golf Resort in Gran Canaria, targeted
European tourism. In 2009, I participated with some of my photographs
in the "Astro for all audiences" of the Spanish node
of the AIA-IYA09. This project, led by Dr. Inés Rodríguez
Hidalgo, the Institute de Astrofisica de Canarias (IAC), Flagship
Project was designated the International Year of Astronomy in
Spain. In January 2009, my image of IC434 was co-winner as Picture
of the Month on American Forum StarShoot Orion Pro, shared recognition
with Doug Hubbell. In November 2009, in Madrid attended a talk
by Patrick Dominguez, Professor of Geology at the Universidad
Complutense, on the treatment of planetary and lunar images.

2011, la revista NT106 de
las líneas aéreas Bínter Canarias publica tres de mis
astrofotografías, en un artículo firmado por Rafael
Rodríguez, secretario general de Los Verdes en Canarias,
bajo el título "El Patrimonio Celeste de Canarias".

the journal NT106 of the airlines Binter Canarias published three
of my astrophotographs, in an article by Rafael Rodriguez, general
secretary of Los Verdes in the Canary Islands, under the title
"Celestial Heritage of Canary Islands". |
